I think the main thing to ensure is that visitors to London aren't ripped off by unlicensed taxi drivers touting for business!

Having been conned by an unlicensed taxi driver some years ago at the International Airport in Shanghai in China, I heartily recommend that visitors go to the official taxi rank when they land at Heathrow in London, and tell all other unwanted taxi drivers who approach them to go elsewhere - I also recommend you take a photograph of the driver and the numberplate and/or licence of the taxi because it will be the only way that the police will be able to track down the culprit (apart from a mass of CCTV footage!).

If I had taken the above steps I doubt very much I would have been ripped off in Shanghai, and I can safely assume the dodgy taxi driver wouldn't be praying on any other foreign visitors!
