VisitBritain has promoted Patricia Yates (pictured) to the new position of director, strategy and insights and tasked current strategy director Sandie Dawe with overseeing London 2012.
Currently strategy and communications director, Sandie Dawe will now take up a directorship role focused entirely on leading and delivering VisitBritiain strategy to maximise the tourist benefits of the London 2012 and Paralympic Games.
She will work closely with Visit London, itself undergoing restructure, to develop joint action plans regarding the games.
Strategy and insights is a new division within Visit Britain and Yates’ remit is to head up a 13-strong team encompassing the new policy remit for VisitBritain, industry communications and corporate
PR, crisis communications and reputation management, research and insights and Government affairs.
The tourist body is currently restructuring as the responsibility for marketing England domestically is handed to a yet-to-be formalised separate body. VisitBritiain has just promoted its marketing director Michel Bedingfield to the role of marketing director for Britain as part of the changes
