2012 London Olympic countdown timer!!!

Thanks to the eagle eyes of one of our Olympic members we have been advised that our countdown timer was out by one day

...which I have now adjusted

But there is still some debate over whether this date is correct or not...

Would any number-crunchers out there care to make comment on whether this new countdown timer is correct because it will be very embarrasing to have the wrong date set for this grand event

OK then,

Having consulted with a few mathematicians and hunted around the internet for confirmation of the countdown timer, I can confirm that the above countdown timer is now apparently set correctly to countdown until the 2012 London Olympic games officially starts at 19.30pm on the 27th July, 2012.

The only flaw in my cunning plan being is if the time of the start of the games doesn't take place at 19.30pm on Friday 27th July, 2012 - Multiplex and Wembley calculations come to mind at this point...Better late than never!!!

I would like to add a countdown timer to the London Olympics to my blog. Sadly I am not clever enough to make one, does anyone have a link to one, or is there some clever person on here who could make one?

Countdown clocks are fairly common, I have one on my own website, the difficultie is choosing the one that you like!

Hi upsydaisy, and welcome to our UNOFFICIAL London 2012 Olympics forum, thank you for reminding me to re-install the London 2012 countdown timer on the forum. I temporarily removed it some time ago and forgot to replace it

As divingbrit quite rightly says, there are many free countdown timers available on the internet using a variety of styles. And like he says, your problem may be in choosing for the abundance of styles on offer rather than installing the timer on your site!

I probably didn't make it very clear that I had already looked at a number of countdown clocks but was really hoping to get a one with the London 2012 logo or maybe olympic rings and I couldn't find one Hence my brick wall!

You then fall foul of the copyright laws, there are very good reasons that those who want to support the London games, do not use certain logos or certain words
You can make your site very clear on what it is trying to achieve within the rules.

Look at the one I created today at the bottom left corner of my home page. Still needs a bit of tweaking but you get the idea.

I can send you a copy of that one if you like or I can tailor it for different logos and fonts, whatever you want really.
