2012 is a leap year.
My post right now is c.5pm 27/7/11 and as there are 366 days 2.5 hours to the opening ceremony at 7.30pm on 27/7/12.

To anyone wondering about the start time for the 2012 Olympic Games. The news is that the confirmed start time for the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics is 9pm GMT on July 27 with the pre-show starting at 20.12pm, so don't forget to set your video recorders or Sky + for this momentous occasion.

We have modified our countdown timer to reflect this
