Olympic team to visit Manchester
5th December 2005, 10:42
The team behind the preparations for London's year as Olympic host in 2012 are visiting Manchester on Monday.
Members of the London Assembly will meet Manchester City Council bosses to profit from their experience gained during the Commonwealth Games in 2002.
They will also have a tour of the Commonwealth Games sports complex.
The legacy of the games left Manchester with regenerated sports and housing facilities and thousands more full time jobs were created.
The London team will meet the Chief Executive Howard Bernstein and Leader of Manchester Council, Richard Leese, who were instrumental in the success of the Games, and the Council's Regeneration and Sports teams.
