A vision of London for 2012
The London Development Agency may have to find another £500 million to acquire all the land they need in Stratford for the 2012 Olympics.
When London presented their plans for the Games the LDA budgeted £478 million to acquire the land, but I understand that following London's unexpected win in Singapore some land prices have risen. The London Games will also need more land than anticipated.
Hugh Robertson, the Conservative shadow sports minister, has tabled parliamentary questions asking the Government to explain what is happening.
He told me: "I'm delighted with the progress London 2012 has made, but this will be of no use if the mayor and the LDA are not able to deliver the site in time and on budget."
